An Elegant Taste of Spain on Peacock Plaza
Please join the Rossmoor Wine and Food Society, June 18, 2015 for a delightful Spanish inspired dinner served on the lovely Peacock Plaza outside the Fireside Room and catered by Wilma Lott Catering of Martinez. The bar will open at 6:00 p.m. serving Tinto de Verano, a mixture of red wine and special sparkling gaseosa lemonade as well as a Pine & Brown Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc, a beautifully structured wine with citrus blossom and Meyer Lemon aromas. Flavors of delicate white peach are held in vibrant focus with lively acidity and seamless texture. Appetizers featuring Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto with balsamic reduction drizzle, Fried Date and Bacon Pinchos and Artichoke Fritters with Green Goddess dipping sauce will be served.
Dinner will begin with a cold Watermelon Gazpacho soup, followed by an Avocado Strawberry Spinach Salad with crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, Sliced Almonds, Red Onion and served with a Poppy-Seed dressing. Our entrée will be Paella with Chicken, Chorizo, Pancetta, Mussels and Prawns. A vegetarian option will be available upon request. Tabla De Sumar Albarino from Spain, full of aromatic richness featuring green apple, lemon and mineral freshness maintains a balance of acidity and flavor in the mouth and Granadiero Tapada Do Barao, a red blend from Portugal, with spicy aromas that combine on the nose, scents of wild berries, flavors of dark red plum, blackberry and more spice add a slightly earthy finish. A luscious Marbled Tres Leches Cake and Fino Vino de Jerez, a Sherry fortified with Brandy after fermentation will complete our evening.
Cost for this summer patio dinner is $65 per member or $75 per guest. Our events fill quickly and the summer dinner is no exception. Please note that all reservations must be received no later than
