Chocolate and Wine Tasting

Please join the Rossmoor Wine and Food Society for a Chocolate and Wine Tasting in the Tahoe Room at the Event Center on Thursday, March 9 from 4:00-5:30pm. This first event of the year will be a brand new experience with chocolate tastings brought to us by Alegio Chocolate/Claudio Corallo and paired with wines from Klinker Brick Winery of Lodi and Wine Thieves in nearby Lafayette.
With over 40 years of experience in producing coffee and chocolate, Claudio Corallo, only by experimenting with making chocolate himself did he succeed in really understanding cacao and chocolate and in making a bean that is not bitter. The final result is the chocolate you can buy now: unique in the world, not only because it is the only real bean-to-bar, but also because it is the purest chocolate available.
The chocolates we taste will be new and a pleasant surprise! Paired with these will be a 2020 Farrah Syrah from Klinker Brick Winery, dark garnet in color, and the wine gives aromas of tobacco and chocolate. The Lodge Reserve Port from Wine Thieves will also be served. This port has dark and lively ruby color. On the nose intense and fruit aromas dominate, with some floral hints. On the palate fresh and robust fruit flavors, with an excellent long finish.
An order form will be provided if you would like to make a purchase of chocolates. Your order will be delivered to Rossmoor and you will be notified when it arrives.
The cost for this event is $45 per member and $55 per guest. If you’re unable to attend after you send in your reservation, contact Nancy Zaleta or Louise Ng. Sorry, no refunds after February 23, 2023. People wishing to sit together, should plan on arriving early. Otherwise, we may not be able to accommodate your wishes.
