Holiday Dinner at the Fireside Room
Welcome in the holiday season by joining the Rossmoor Wine and Food Society on Thursday, November 30, 2017 for a special dinner. We will experience a delightful meal served in the beautifully decorated Fireside Room and catered by Wilma Lott Catering. The dishes will include varied profiles that will create intriguing wine pairings and an evening of wonderful flavors. Appetizers served at 6:00 p.m., will feature Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto, Fig and Olive Tapenade on Crostini and Mini Caviar Éclairs with Lox and Cream Cheese. A festive classic Sparkling Wine Cranberry Cocktail, topped with fresh cranberries plumped in sparkling wine and sugar and a Laird Pinot Grigio, from the Carneros region of Napa, complex on the palate with up front flavors of nectarine, tropical flower and sun kissed citrus followed by a clean mineral finish, will accompany the appetizers.
An Endive and Arugula salad with chopped walnut, red apple and Gorgonzola cheese served in white wine vinaigrette will begin our dinner. A duet entrée of Grilled Sirloin Steak with a Dijon Port Sauce and Marinated Shrimp and Scallop Kabob, with Au Gratin Potatoes, Gruyere and Caramelized Onions, Roasted Root Vegetables and sliced French bread with Butter will accompany our meal. Dinner will be paired with a Bartalotti Chardonnay, an unoaked wine from the Russian River Valley with true Chardonnay fruit character, and a Murphy Goode Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alexander Valley with flavors of blackberries, black cherries and vanilla, showcasing firm lush tannins. A wonderful Poached Pear atop an Oatmeal Crumble, drizzled with Brandy Sauce will be a sweet finish. Enjoy the flavors of caramel with hints of chocolate and vanilla in our after dinner cocktail made with Amarula Cream Liqueur, Creme de Cacao, Amaretto and cream.
Cost for this holiday dinner is $65 per member or $75 per guest. Our events fill quickly and the holiday dinner is no exception. Please note that all reservations must be received no later than Thursday, November 16, 2017. No refunds after November 16, 2017 when the number of attendees is given to the caterer and payment is made. If you are unable to attend after you have sent in your reservation, please contact Helen Kane 660-9880 or Louise Ng 997-3335 so that we may call those members on our wait list. If we are able to fill your space we will send a refund to you.
