2018 Holiday Dinner

Welcome in the holiday season by joining the Rossmoor Wine and Food Society on Thursday, November 29, 2018 for a special holiday dinner. We will experience a delightful meal served in the beautifully decorated Fireside Room and catered by Wilma Lott Catering. The menu will include varied profiles that will create intriguing wine pairings and an evening of wonderful flavors. The evening will begin with appetizers served at the tables family style at 6:00 p.m., featuring Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto and drizzled with a Balsamic Reduction, Fig and Walnut Tapenade on a sliced Baguette and Melted Gorgonzola and Honey Bruschetta on Crostini. A festive classic Spiked Apple Cider made with Dark Rum and Cinnamon Schnapps served over ice and garnished with diced apples and a Cochon Cuvee Sophie Pinot Gris, from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, which is complex on the palate with up front flavors of nectarine, tropical flower and sun kissed citrus followed by a clean mineral finish, will accompany the appetizers.
Tomato-Fennel Soup will be served to begin our dinner. Our entrée is a partially de-boned Quail served with a Port Wine Sauce, along with sides of Roasted and Seasoned Carrots and Sweet Potatoes, Cornbread Stuffing with Celery, Herbs and Onion and Handmade Rosemary Rolls with Butter will complete our meal. Dinner will be paired with a Gibbs Chardonnay from the Napa Valley, which is aged in 40% New French Oak with aromas of vanilla and nutmeg on a body of pear, honey and melon, and a Cochon Pape Rocks, a Rhone Style Red Blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre with aromas of black-raspberry, ripe cherry, menthol and rocky minerals leading to a velvety texture and an elegant finish. A decadent dessert of Cheesecake with Raspberry topping and a Chocolate Martini made with Vanilla Vodka, Chocolate Liqueur and Creme de Cocoa served over ice will complete our meal.
Cost for this holiday dinner is $75 per member or $85 per guest. Our events fill quickly and the holiday dinner is no exception. Please note that all reservations must be received no later than Thursday, November 15, 2018. No refunds after November 15, 2018 when the number of attendees is given to the caterer. If you are unable to attend after you have sent in your reservation, please contact Helen Kane 660-9880 or Louise Ng 997-3335 so that we may call those members on our wait list. If we are able to fill your space we will send a refund to you.
